About the case of Ilya Farber. 10 observations from the courtroom

Details of the case against Ilya Farber. You can read the main story of the wonderful Polina Eremenko from publicpost at the link . But I’ll try to talk about those scandals, lies and outright rudeness that occurred during the days of the debate and jury verdict in the city of Ostashkov.

1) Judge Vladimir Vladimirovich Andreev gave parting words to the jury: he repeated the testimony of the prosecution witnesses, and advised not to pay attention to the testimony of the defendant Ilya Farber, since often the accused specifically try to evade punishment.

2) The defendant was brought to the hall in the morning for 2 minutes. They said that they would announce the verdict without him and took him back to the Ostashkovsky temporary detention center.

3) Judge Andreev deprived (!!!!) the last word of the accused. He asked me to sing instead of the last word (he is an opera artist by training). For some reason Judge Andreev replied that this was prohibited by law. Then Farber said that he came today without a corset (his spine was broken last year) - at this point the judge deprived him of the last word. Having said that, health status is something that can influence jurors.

4) During the announcement of parting words, federal judge Andreev’s mobile phone rang (!!!!!). He replied that he would call back and put the phone in his trouser pocket.

5) Judge Andreev was at the court hearing without a robe, wearing a shirt with his stomach hanging out and trousers. It seems to me that this is contempt of court! And this is already article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

6) The prosecutor said that the crunching of bills could be heard on the audio recording from the car. That he counted 30 crunches, and if you calculate this in five thousand dollar bills, then you get exactly 150 thousand rubles, which Farber is accused of.

7) According to the prosecutor: a) “Well, to be honest...” b) “We could even have a video recording(!) of the bribe being handed over, but unfortunately we don’t have it...”

8) After the jury left the deliberation room, Judge Andreev said that the jury forgot to write “unanimously” on questions 7,8,9 and sent them back to the room. At the same time, what was written on the sheets was not shown to either the lawyers or the participants in the process. Or maybe it was empty???!!!!

9) The cost of the Hummer model, like that of the “false bribe taker and angel” Gorokhov, is currently about 2 million rubles, with the average salary in Ostashkov about 15,000 rubles.

10) “Does the accused Farber deserve leniency for the first article charged to him?” - no, he does not deserve 8 jurors and yes, he deserves 4 jurors. To the same answer, but under a different article, 9 was answered that it does not deserve and 3 that it deserves. One juror changed his mind??????

These are the 10 (!) facts that would cause the case to fall apart in a normal civilized country. And here we have...the jury's verdict: "Guilty on all counts."
