Energy Expert Dmitry Baranov: It is hardly worth expecting that alternative energy will be able to squeeze traditional types of energy in the coming years

Simple wind parks ready for operation, which cannot be connected to the German National Energy Settage on time, citizens of the country must pay. Such a proposal was nominated by the Minister of Economics of Germany Philip Resaler and Minister of Ecology Peter Altmeier. The German government plans that by 2030, 15% of energy will be produced at offshore wind farms in the North and Baltic Sea. Their power should reach 25 thousand megavatts (today it is 5.5 thousand megavatts). The speed of connecting wind farms to the power supply on land remains very slow. If the wind park ready for operation cannot be used, then the operator of the energy network must pay compensation for a simple one. The German authorities want to allow operators of energy networks to include the amount of this compensation in the price of electricity.

Despite the fact that alternative energy (AE) has been developing in the world for several decades, it has not yet become a member of the traditional methods of obtaining electricity: thermal, hydropower, atomic energy. But calling it is completely useless either. Currently, its share in the country's energy balance is estimated at 3-5%, in developed countries its share is higher than 10-20%.

And although alternative energy has not been a “child” for a long time, she could not make any serious competition to traditional sources of energy. Still, most industrial consumers use traditional types of energy, and alternative energy is either not used at all, or serves as a kind of addition to traditional energy sources. According to various estimates, in 2011, investments in it amounted to about 300 billion dollars in the world in the world, and the total volume of investments in alternative energy, from the moment it began to be engaged in the world, can be estimated at more than 1 trillion dollars.

Despite the fact that alternative energy has been developing for many years, until recently, a delighted attitude has been preserved with respect to it and expected a miracle from it, and it was unlikely to have any difficulties: money was generously allocated, everyone believed that a slight future will come and the alternative energy sources will come. Yes, and there were practically no special clashes with real economics, and had no strict competition. And now, when it began to actively implement it in many states, when it began to be believed by market criteria, when alternative energy projects faced real competition, it turned out that it was not always ready to “hold a blow”, and was experiencing certain difficulties when working in real conditions.

Actually, both the bankruptcy of the American manufacturer of solar panels and the intention of the German authorities to assign the population to the population of non-working wind park, precisely, it indicates that the “candy-flowering” period in the relations of society and alternative energy ended. And now they expect from her that she will be ready to work in market conditions, that is, as all other energy companies work and not only energy. It is clear that this transition will be difficult for alternative energy, but there is no other way, if all those who are engaged in it want to work further.

It is hardly worth expecting that alternative energy will be able to suppress traditional types of energy in the coming years, because before reaching their economic and technical indicators it will take much time. Therefore, if we predict the future development of alternative energy, then it is most likely that it will complement traditional types of energy, at least until it occurs in it a cardinal breakthrough, providing the simplicity and cheapness of obtaining electricity compared to other types of energy.
