The Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov filed a counterclaim in Finland

The former husband of the Russians Rimma Salonen submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to the Commissioner for Child Rights in Russia Pavel Astakhov and the Russian government, RBC reports.

Finland citizen Paavo Salonen believes that the Russian authorities and Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov several times grossly violated his rights and rights of his son Anton. According to Salonen, in an interview with Pavel Astakhov, the Russian media, in which he mentioned and touched on issues regarding his health, is widespread in unreliable information.

Paavo Salonen also accuses the Russian government of depriving him of the opportunity to legally leave Russia with his child, because of which the boy had to be exported in the trunk of a Finnish diplomat.

In 2008, Rimma Salonen, along with her son Anton, went to Russia after a divorce from her Finnish husband. The authorities of Finland regarded this as a kidnapping. The court sentenced the Russian woman to 1.5 years in prison. In April 2009, Paavo Salonen, with the assistance of an employee of the Finnish Consulate General in St. Petersburg, secretly took Anton to Finland. Russia demanded from Finland the initiation of a criminal case in connection with the abduction of the child, but the Finnish prosecutor's office did not find reason for this. The Finnish court sided with Paavo Salonen, in April 2011, refusing to return to Rimma Salonen Guardianship.
