In Buenos Aires, a new verdict was sentenced to two former leaders of the military junta, who ruled Argentina from 1976 to 1983, Jorge saw and Reynaldo Bignona, as well as several of their henchmen, former military and policeman. They are found guilty of abductions by dozens of children of women who were in prison for political reasons. Jorge saw, already serving two lifelong conclusions for murders and torture, received an additional 50 years in prison, and the last Argentina Dictator Reynaldo Bignona - 15 years. The court’s decision became the culmination of several large trials, which lasted several years. On July 6, the Argentinean newspaper Tiempo publishes an interview with a woman named
Victoria Montenegro , who was kidnapped by her mother in prison, and only after many years with the help of human rights activists learned about her origin. She says:
"To call a spade a spade, not to be afraid of the truth - it will always be better for everyone. This sentence summarizes for many years of the struggle for the truth and for human rights. I thank all our parents for giving us life, and everyone who supported us - for helping us understand who we are actually." According to the materials of the investigation, which received confirmation in court, in the late 70s and early 80s of the last century, the mothers “arrested for participating in speeches against the Argentine junta,” or even simply on suspicion of “anti-state activity”, the officers of the special services took children away, including infants born to the prison at the age of several days. Then they were secretly transferred to the loyal family regime under other people's names. The women themselves were killed, mainly accepted in Argentina in the way - dropping alive from airplanes to the ocean.
The most famous of the former military dictators of Argentina Horhe saw, which is now 86 and a half years old, at the end of 2010 was sentenced by the court in the city of Cordoba to the second lifelong opinion - for crimes against humanity. He was then found guilty of organizing torture and murders of more than 30 political prisoners in 1976. It is considered the initiator of the so -called "dirty war", the military war, the junta against the Argentinean society, in which, according to the comrade -in -arms themselves, almost 9 thousand people were killed or brute to death. And according to the estimates of international human rights activists and lawyers - more than 30 thousand. I saw for the struggle with the left, with the intelligentsia, with the opposition, with the socialists, with the leaders of the workers of trade unions and with the rural leaders created powerful death squads that were not connected by any norms and law. They dumped living people into the ocean from helicopters, tortured, buried alive.
I saw by 1981 how unpopular even among his associates that he had to transfer power to another general. And the whole junta in Argentina collapsed in 1983 after a failed Falkland War with Great Britain. I saw it attracted to the trial, then forgave it, then they tried it again, then pardoned, but as a result in 2008 they sentenced the first lifelong opinion. Among all the presidents and rulers of Argentina since the beginning of the 19th century, he has not officially. His name is deleted from there with shame, and his portraits were shot in all official galleries, where the images of the great Argentines hang.
On July 5, I saw an additional 50 years of prison for kidnapping children. And his "last heir" of Reynaldo Bignona was sentenced to 15 years for the same crime. In general, 11 people appeared before the court in this case. Among them are the figures known in Latin America, such as General Jorge Akosta nicknamed Tiger, he was given 30 years in prison, and Anonio Vanek, who received a 40-year term. Two were justified.
The verdict was announced for a very long time, the judge,
Maria del Carmen Rocket, read out lists of all the victims of the dictator. Here is an excerpt from her speech:
"To be sentenced by Jorge Rafael Sawu, finding him completely guilty of creating a systematic plan of abductions of children under the age of 9 years old, 34 women, Argentina citizens and citizens of other states, in indulgence to criminals and leadership, without the right to appeal, by 50 years in prison." The Spanish newspaper El Pais recalls in connection with the end of this court, that in Argentina there is a public and human rights movement "Mother of Square May" - the Association of Argentine mothers, whose children disappeared during the dictatorship. The movement received its name from the name of the central square of Buenos Aires Plazade Mayo, where, directly opposite the government of the government, starting on April 30, 1977, every Thursday women began to gather, whose children disappeared without a trace. But inside this movement there is a special association, which bears the name "Grandmother of the Square of May" - these are elderly women who are looking for granddaughters and grandchildren of their killed daughters. It was they who were the first to announce the existence of a plan for kidnapping children invented by Jorge Vylyu. According to their estimates, at least 500-400 children disappeared.
The El Pais newspaper cites the words of the lawyer of these "grandmothers", Alan Luda, who says that very few have managed to find - today are adults who know nothing and do not remember their past. In which families they got into - no one knows except former officers of the special services of the junta who directly complied with orders. And they are already either dead, or refer to a bad senile memory. Members of families who accepted children for education (and this, as a rule, were officer families), for obvious reasons, will never be the first to perform revelations.
