The British police managed to arrest a group of terrorists after law enforcement officers stopped a car for a regular verification of documents, the British newspaper Daily Mail writes on Saturday with reference to the local Ministry of Internal Affairs. Terrorists issued a lack of insurance.
The incident occurred last weekend when the police stopped the car on the M1 London highway, which connects the British capital with the city of LIDS, RIA Novosti reports. The car was sent to the parking lot due to the fact that the driver had no insurance. And until Monday, no one remembered this car. Then the police decided just in case to search him. During the search, firearms were found and a certain number of ammunition for it.
After that, the police decided to more carefully treat the owner of the car and its driver, as a result of which seven people were taken into custody. Six of them - aged 23 to 27 years, the seventh suspect in terrorism is much older than them - he was 43. All of them lived in the West Midland in the west of Great Britain.
The police suspect that people were taken into custody prepared a terrorist attack on the occasion of the anniversary of the series of terrorist attacks held in London on July 7, 2005. Then the attackers blew up three metro trains of the British capital and one bus. As a result, 52 people were killed.
On Thursday, it became known about the arrest in different parts of London five men and one woman who was also suspected of preparing terrorist attacks. However, as the police sources told Daily Mail, this group is not in any way with the seven suspects from the Western Midland.
