Large water

More than a hundred people died as a result of catastrophic floods in the Krasnodar Territory. The main blow of the water was taken by the city of Krymsk, according to preliminary data, 134 people were killed in it. The water arrived at about 3 o’clock in the morning on July 7 and the inhabitants simply did not manage to climb the upper floors of the buildings, and it was pointless to go out - a huge wave washed away multi -ton trucks in its path.

The nearby cities of the Black Sea coast - Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik, in which 12 tel were less affected. At the same time, five people in Gelendzhik were killed not from what drowned, but from the wiring that had stanned from flooding.

Later, the inhabitants of Krymsk complained to reporters that no one warned them about the approaching flood. At the same time, there was a rumor that a couple of hours before the arrival of water, the mayor of the city managed to go to a safer place.

Many Crimeans are sure that the flood occurred as a result of discharge of water from the Neberjaevsky reservoir, which is located above the city. The authorities of the region denied this information and assured that in the damage of the reservoir there is not even a technical ability to drop water, there is only a protective drain that protects against overflow - like the one that is equipped in the apartments to unitates and bathrooms. However, President Putin, who urgently flew to the Kuban, instructed the Ministry of Emergencies and Rostekhnadzor to take control of the situation for the reservoir. Supporters of this version also refer to the experience of flooding in the Kuban in 2002. Then also accused the reservoirs, which, to save the dams from the breakthrough, were lowered water without warning.

Another version of what happened accuses only rain of everything - in recent days in the Kuban, in particular in Krymsk, there were pouring rains. As a result, the reservoir really overflowed and periodically launched excess water - but the villages that stand right under it were not injured much. Krymsk is located immediately behind the merger of several small rivers, which collected rain water from a rather large area. As a result, at some point, a wave rose, the nature of which is similar to the tsunami. Due to long rains, the earth did not absorb anything and new water could only flow down, taking tons of clay and dirt with it. Approaching the plain, the water speed decreased, but all the new flows pressed from behind, which was due to the wall of water a few meters high.

The disaster occurred due to the fact that neither local authorities nor the Ministry of Emergencies could predict the appearance of such a wave, and therefore citizens were not warned. According to some reports, at 22-23 hours on July 6, the townspeople were called, and some houses even went around the authorities, but they only talked about increasing the water level and no one paid attention to it, since no one expected a multi-meter wave. In that very 2002, the water level in Krymsk rose by about 1.5 meters. Given that the houses there are at an altitude of about 50 cm from the normal level of the river, then the flood was gone for the Crimean catastrophe.

Rescuers, police and military arrived in the city a few hours later - they could only remove the survivors from the roofs, set up a tent camp nearby and provide it with clean water and food. The authorities promised to give the victims several tens of thousands of rubles, and two million to relatives of the dead. The Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case under the article “Causing death by negligence”, however, its representatives officially stated that the discharge of water from the Nebertjaevsky reservoir could not be the reason for the emergence of a wave in Krymsk, as the water was interspersed through special pipes, and not overlapped the dam.
