Aeroflot IL-96 Liner IL-96, which arrived at the SU2071 flight from Moscow, rolled out on Wednesday with a runway when landing at the Cyprus airport of Larnak. This was reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to the press service of the airport.
None of the 274 passengers and 13 crew members were injured. According to the airport press service, the plane got off the strip from the wheel, which, due to overheating, burst and caught fire during landing.
The liner, deviating during landing, stopped on the nearest steering wheel. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Airport employees took passengers to the arrival terminal. The airport’s work shortly after the incident was completely restored.
Aeroflot had to send another board for passengers to Larnaka, said the representative of the carrier’s press service. IL-96 will be repaired in Cyprus.
