"Russian booker" will voice the long list, the jury is headed by Samuel Lurie this year

The literary prize "Russian Bucher", which is awarded for the best novel of the year in Russian, will announce a Long list in Moscow on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the organizers.

This year, the winner of the jury of the award will be from novels published over the past two years, since last year, in connection with the change of trustee, the competition took place in the “Buhmer of Decades” format - the jury of previous years chose the rating voting of all who was among the applicants in the past years. The novel of the decade was called "The haze lays on the old steps ..." Alexander Chudakov, who reached the final of the competition in 2001.

The new prize trustee - Globex Bank - increased the prize fund of the competition, and this year the winner of the Russian Boker will receive one and a half million rubles, and the finalists - one hundred and fifty thousand. Earlier, the winners received 600 thousand rubles, finalists - 60 thousand each.

The composition of the jury of the "Russian Boker" is changing annually. This year he was headed by a critic, essayist Samuel Lurie (St. Petersburg). The jury also included the general director of the Pushkin Library of Maria Vedenyapina, poet Vladimir Salimon, prose writer, director, screenwriter Pavel Sanaev, prose writer and critic Roman Senchin.

There was a rotation in the British Committee of the "Russian Boker". Over the past ten years, he was headed by an essayist, critic George Walden, he was the chairman of the committee from 2003 to 2011. In 2012, this post was taken by David Gauen, who from 2000 to 2003 was deputy British ambassador in Moscow, and now lectures in Oxford. David Gauen will be present at the announcement of the Long List of the Prize.

The Russian Bucher was established in December 1991 and was first awarded in 1992, since then the award has been carried out annually. Direct management of the prize is carried out by the Buker Committee, which includes prominent writers, representatives of the literary public, cultural figures.

In different years, Bulat Okudzhava, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Alexander Ilichevsky, Vladimir Makanin, Mikhail Butov, Mikhail Elizarov and others became owners of the prize.
