This year the Museon Arts Park will celebrate its 20th anniversary

For the anniversary, the administration of the park-museum decided to be creative. One of the surprises is the Talking Park project. Sound installations will be located throughout the Muzeon. This weekend, a bench will be able to speak to visitors, a bin of newspapers will quote excerpts from the old press, and an empty pedestal will philosophize on various topics...

On the weekend, July 14 and 15, as the park management promises, many surprises await its visitors, ranging from a classical music concert to talking benches and urns.

The park first opened its doors to visitors in 1992. It was then that Felix Dzerzhinsky, Joseph Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, Karl Marx and other sculptures from the times of the USSR settled on the lawns of the park. The park became a place of untimely exile for the former leaders and key figures of that era.

On the faded lawn of the park, the sculptures are arranged chaotically, almost scattered. Some have signatures next to them, while others are “anonymous” from the Soviet era. But soon the situation should change. Young art historians are already working on a tour program for the park, which should streamline this collection.

The general director of the Muzeon park, Elena Tyunyaeva, told Novaya Gazeta: “We decided for ourselves that we are a creative workshop, and this creativity can be expressed in all directions: in art, landscape, food.”

And the park is really changing before our eyes. The “School” pavilion appeared – a project of the young architect Igor Chirkin, which hosts all kinds of lectures and educational programs. The children's camp "City of Classics" was opened. “Children do not want to leave, because we have a very good selection of teachers, interesting master classes. In general, everything is connected with creativity. Children open up here,” continues Elena Tyunyaeva. The park also has a public garden and an open library.

Further more. The FuturesShorts cinema will open in July, and there are plans to open a cafe that will serve visitors all year round. And in September, there should be a playground with all sorts of "loops" for children and again - master classes.

At the same time, the management of the park cares not only about entertainment, but also about art: “This is both a museum and a park rolled into one, and there is no such thing in Moscow anymore. We strive to reach another level in terms of art: we attract interesting architects, landscapers, we plan to organize various festivals, exhibitions so that this content will make the park more attractive for visitors.”

Completely different musical groups and performers will perform on the summer concert stage at the weekend: on July 14 - with the program "Classics", on the 15th the spectators and listeners are expected to "Experiment".
