At least $ 6 billion will be packed with VISA, MasterCard and the largest American banks in the United States to resolve a loud trial, reports Associated Press.
The companies were accused of a monopoly conspiracy in order to overestimate the commission, which they took from merchants when paying for purchases with the help of credit cards.
According to the court decision, Visa, MasterCard and banks will have to pay a fine and reduce commission fees that will help retailers receive compensation for losses.
According to the chairman of last year's National Association of Small Business, Marilyn Landis, the victory in this trial may lead to a decrease in bars of fees that they charge from stores and buyers. Now retailers pay 3.75% banks from each purchase on the card.
