For exactly 4 years, since July 2008, I have not left the courts, I have the status of a defense attorney (what is commonly called a “public defender”), and I constantly write requests to the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office. Sometimes answers come, but never, not once, have I received a single document from any Russian court - even if I am a participant in the process. Never, nothing. When I swear, they nod to the post office. No, our mail, of course, is not worth a good word - but for some reason I receive documents from the European Court of Human Rights regularly and on time. At the same time, I pay taxes in Russia - just for the maintenance of ships and mail, for example. Now my conscience has finally stopped hurting when I fill out the line “respondent state” in the ECHR documents.
