Program “Looking for a way out...”

This is not the first time I have seen such hysteria here. All this would only be appropriate on the Echo of Moscow website in the comments.

Kovalchuk did not say “the number of articles has increased” or “the impact has increased.” A journal with a volume of 200 articles cannot suddenly publish 400. Maybe he meant the number of submitted articles, maybe the amount of work of the editorial board, maybe the amount of spending on reviewers, maybe the quality level. Or maybe he expressed himself incorrectly on air (the head at the microphone works in a completely different mode).

Words by themselves do not carry meaning, and are needed to exchange thoughts. I personally understand Kovalchuk’s idea well: we will not publish in domestic journals ourselves - no one will do this for us. And the opinion of the editor-in-chief of a serious publication is valuable to me (his authority is determined by the work he does). Why is this note valuable to me? What benefit did I get from it? (I read it twice before I understood what it was about, because I didn’t immediately notice “No comment”). Everyone makes mistakes, especially on air - I know this well, don’t bother reminding me...
