The Irish swimmer died, trying to cross the La-Channel

The Irish swimmer Parik Casey died, crossing the La Cans, informs Sport-Express with reference to the British television radio corporation of the Air Force. Reportedly, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, 45-year-old Casey swam the La-Channel when he suddenly became ill.

“He had about one and a half kilometers to the French coast, he was almost at the finish line,” the family spokesman said.

His wife Rian Casey said that recently her husband’s swims brought him first places and that he had never complained about his health.

The representative of the federation of Plovtsov through the La-Channel said that before the attempt to cross the strait, the athlete underwent a medical examination and said that he had recently committed a preparatory six-hour swim. The Federation currently does not have detailed information about the causes of the tragedy.
