At the flight control center (TsUP) have not yet come to a consensus regarding whether it is worth re-jailing the M-15M progress cargo from the ISS on July 29, which was previously reported . The ship, we recall, could not fix it with the ISS in the first attempt and was allotted from it to a safe distance.
"Today and the day before, attempts were made to test the new" Cource-on "equipment, but they have not yet been successful," the ITAR-TASS quoted the representative of Tsup.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the decision will be made at the end of the week. If it is negative, loaded with garbage "Progress" will be allowed into "free swimming" for three weeks. During this time, the Radar-Progress Scientific experiment will be conducted on board, and then flooded at the "cemetery of spaceships" in the Pacific Ocean.
Recall, "Progress" was plowed from the station on the night of July 23. It was planned that during the re-connection a number of engineering tests of the tested new, modernized version of the “Cource on” rapprochement system will be carried out, which in the future plan to equip the manned “unions” in order to accept other Russian space trucks. This system should exclude non -standard situations when joining.
However, the testing of progress planned on the morning of July 24 and the ISS did not take place. For unknown reasons, the "Cource" did not work. When trying to activate the system, problems were discovered in it, which entailed an automatic cancellation of the docking.
