Film director Dmitry Meskhiev leaves the post of chairman of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee, which he headed since December 2011, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the director himself.
“I will switch to another job. Therefore, there are no pitfalls behind this event. After I was offered a new job, I am leaving this post by mutual, amicable agreement with the city’s leadership,” Meskhiev told the agency.
However, he did not clarify the new place of his work.
The city administration states that Meskhiev’s departure for them was a surprise, so there is no candidacy for his post. "His duties will be fulfilled by the First Deputy Chairman of Culture Illarions Boris Aleksandrovich. It will be executed as much time as it will be needed to discuss the candidacy and make a decision," said Julia Strizhak, representative of the vice -governor of St. Petersburg.
The famous St. Petersburg director Alexander Sokurov noted that he does not regret leaving his colleague from Smolny.
Meskhiev, who headed the city committee for less than a year, tried to solve a number of acute problems, including the issue of withdrawing Lenfilm from the crisis of the film studio. Sokurov also participated in the solution of this problem, who did not share the position of Smolny.
"In my opinion, this was one of the worst candidates for the post of head of the Committee on Culture. Now let's see, maybe it will seem to us that this was not the worst option yet," Sokurov told the agency.
The candidacy of the new head of the committee is not yet known. Sokurov noted that he does not have any special hopes for this. “One official is gone, the other will come. What else can be said to be,” he said.
In mid -December last year, Dmitry Meskhiev, who since 2009, was the main producer of the film company RWS (Russian World Studios), left the studio to focus on the duties of the chairman of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee.
In this post, he replaced Anton Gubankov, who led the city culture committee from June 2008 to October 2011.
During the chairmanship of Meskhiev, the Committee prepared a project of a new model for managing city theaters in St. Petersburg, which caused an acute polemic in the theater environment. The reform project involves the transfer of artistic directors and directors of theaters to urgent agreements, as well as the development of recommendations for the formation of repertoire policy.
Writer Viktor Shenderovich convicted Meskhiev in corruption
The famous writer and journalist Viktor Shenderovich on his blog on the website of Echo of Moscow accused Meskhiev of the corruption distribution of budget subsidies to non -state theaters.
“Of the 15.6 million rubles, one theater received 15 million rubles - the Russian Entreprise named after Andrei Mironov. The Hudor of the Theater Rudolf Furmanov is both a distant relative of the head of the Culture Committee Dmitry Meskhiev and the confidant of Vladimir Putin,” Schenderovich writes, noting that “this is not even corruption, but another demonstration of lawlessness, a persistent announcement of the new rules of the new rules Games ".
The writer noted the paradox of the situation - "most of the theater received by budget money, it turns out, intends to spend on the staging of the Schwartz play" Naked King ".
“You are a naked, old fool! You understand? Naked, naked, naked! You look at the people! Look at the people! They thought. Thinking, an unhappy jester! Traditions are cracking! Smoke is coming over the state! (The king depicts the cry.) Silence, well!
