The Suntarsky District Court of Yakutia fined a 16-year-old teenager 115 thousand rubles for damaging high-voltage line supports, the press service of OJSC AK Yakutskenergo reported on Monday.
“On January 15, a minor (born in 1996), out of hooligan motives, used an ax to cut down two 10 kV overhead line supports belonging to the Yakutskenergo company, as a result of which residents of the Kyuelsky nasleg of the Suntarsky district were left without electricity for 20 hours at a temperature of 42 degrees below zero,” it says in a message from Yakutskenergo.
The press service noted that the unscheduled replacement of poles and work to restore power supply brought significant losses to Western Electric Networks OJSC, which they decided to recover from the defendant through the court.
