The Russian programmer created the global "Internet"

The Russian programmer Ruslan Enikeev launched the project “Internet Map”, which is a two -dimensional display of connections between sites on the World Wide Web, Computer reports.

Each site on the map is presented in the form of a circle, the diameter of which depends on attendance. The transitions of users between sites form connections: the stronger the connection, the closer the web resources are located to each other.

The Internet map covers more than 350 thousand sites from 196 countries in all domain zones that have more than two million ties among themselves. At the same time, web pages are combined into thematic clusters. The largest are formed by national resources belonging to the same country. Clusters carry a semantic load, that is, combine pages in their content.

For the convenience of perception of information, sites related to different countries are highlighted in color. In particular, the red color corresponds to the rune, the yellow one is China, and the light-blue-the United States of America.

The developer notes that the entire project is written in C#. The data lean took several weeks of continuous operation of powerful computer equipment. The project uses the cloud platform of Amazon.

As Yenikeev said on his blog , only about half a million people visited the “Internet map” yesterday.
