Court over Pussy Riot: Second Day

The first meeting on the merits of the case of the members of the Pussy Riot group ended on July 30 at about 22.00 Moscow time. The victims were interrogated - the guards of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the candlestick. At a meeting on July 31, it is expected that the victims will continue to ask lawyers, six more victims and ten witnesses will be interrogated. On the first day of the hearings, the petition of the state prosecutor was satisfied on a partial ban on photo and video recharge on the process. The lawyers called such a long meeting on the first day of the hearings torture in relation to the defendants. Pussy Riot defenders do not exclude that the verdict can be passed in three weeks.

By 12.00 Moscow time, the court completely heard only one victim - the altar of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior Vasily Tsyganyuk. He accepted the apology of the victims - noting, however, that they "should be cordial, and not the text read out by the lawyer." The defendant Maria Alekhina agreed with Tsyganyuk and noted that the court was not given the opportunity to apologize in a different form. The petition of Alekhina, who stated the reasons that prevent her from participating in the process - a sleepless night, a late arrival in the pre -trial detention center on July 30 - the court was not considered.

Later, the lawyer of the defendants Violett Volkova said that Maria Alekhina, Ekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikov were brought to the pre -trial detention center at two in the morning, and at five in the morning they ordered "the rise!" According to the lawyer Volkova, in court the defendants do not have time to eat, they have not received hot food since last week.

The next victim, the altar, Pavel Zhelezov noted that the participants of Punk -Molebn performed in an "obviously impermissible form." According to the victim, this "insulted him to the depths of his soul, because this is the violation of the holy traditions in a cynical way ... as if they were offended by a close relative, the violations of the values that are holy for me ... Amph and Solia are not a platform for the performances of actors and groups."

Like the previous victim, Zhelezov refused the statement of the lawsuit: "I do not need their money." However, he, unlike Tsyganyuk, did not accept the apologies for the defendants: "They did not apologize for causing a huge pain to me and many other people. And for violation of the church routine, it is necessary to apologize not before me." After the hint of his lawyer, Zhelezov answered “no” to the apology to Maria Alekhina.

Relations between lawyers and judge are quite tense. So Violetta Volkova said: “When there was a Magnitsky process, the Judge Krivoruchko did not allow him to pour boiling water into a glass so that he could brew a doshirak for himself, and this became a legend. The meeting takes more than four hours, and the only break was announced only for 5 minutes. The defendants last ate early in the morning in a pre -trial detention center, reports RAPSI.

The victim said that he had heard the apology of the group member, but does not want to accept them, because he does not consider sincere.

16 38 . According to Vinogradov, he watched Pussy Riot's performance for only 15 seconds, but this made a "great impression on him."

When I remember this, I often cry,” the victim told the court.

17:18 . Tatyana Anosova reported that she read the apology of the Punk-Molebna participants, but does not accept them, considering them insincere.

17:35 . The question of the lawyer of one of the defendants, whether the moral suffering of the Anosos with a five -month prisoner of the Pussy Riot participants is compensated, was rejected by the judge - as well as the vast majority of other issues of the defendants and their protection.

17:49 . The court moved to the interrogation of the seventh victim - security guard Stanislav Shilin. Like the rest of the victims, he reports that he is a deeply believers. He said what had happened as the desecration of the temple and deeply worried about this.

18:11 . Shilin said that he experienced such a strong excitement that so far he could not restore mental balance and, in this state, is not able to forgive the participants of Punk Molebn. He, like previously questioned victims, does not consider the apologies for the defendants sincere. He does not see politicians in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior - only blasphemy.

18:13 . The defendants are talking about something in their aquarium, the judge makes them a remark. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova replies that they talked about how to sleep ("... we slept today 2 hours"). The judge promised that they would go to sleep as soon as the meeting ended. And she recommended that the strength is not to talk.

18:29 . The meeting continues. There is an interrogation of the last, eighth victim. This is a guard Vladimir Potankin.

18:47 . Potankin reports that the words of the song performed by Pussy Riot participants did not hear. When asked how this performance caused him moral harm, he replied that the grace and silence that reigned in the temple was violated. After the emergency, he "was suppressed" and "temporarily did not work."

During the interrogation, it turns out that, although Vladimir Potankin did not make out the words of the song in the temple, he knows what is being discussed: he watched the video posted on the Internet. He does not use the Internet himself, the clip showed him a neighbor. The lawyer of the defendants asks if Potankin asked a neighbor about this service. Answer: "I do not remember."

19:22 . One of the lawyers of the defendants, Mark Feigin, filed a motion to announce the testimony of Potankin, which he gave at the preliminary investigation. The justification is the significant discrepancies of those testimonies and the current data in court: During the preliminary investigation, according to the case file, Potankin did not report his moral suffering. The judge does not reject Feigin’s petition, but puts off the decision on him until the end of the interrogation.

This is not the only contradiction in the testimony of the victim. Earlier, he said that he did not see Nadezhda Tolokonnikov in the temple, and in court he said that he had identified it.

The prosecutor also asks to announce the testimony of Potankin at the preliminary investigation.

One of the defendants, Maria Alekhina, asks Potankina to answer if she and other Punk-Molebna participants behaved aggressively, did she resisted the conclusion of their temple? Potankin says that he did not feel aggression from the girls. When asked how much the “violation of public order” continued: three or four minutes.

19:39 . The court granted the application for the announcement of Potankin's testimony at the preliminary investigation. Potankin replies that it was "just a reservation." The lawyers of the defendants are outraged by this answer.

20:01 . An unexpected statement by lawyers of the defendants. They noticed that in the testimony of different victims - the same spelling errors in the same places. From which the protection concludes: the readings are written under a carbon copy. According to the sides of the defendants, the investigators themselves inserted whole pieces of text into the testimonies of the victims - and the victims simply signed all this.

When the data stated by the prosecutor began to announce, it suddenly became clear that this was not the same data, and the first volume of the case increased by as much as 102 new pages. Meanwhile, according to the expertise of the State Unitary Enterprise, the pages previously were different. All this gave the grounds to lawyers of the defendants to make replicas about possible falsifications.
