There was only one intention - to punch someone in the face

I am closely following the ongoing trial in the case of Rasul Mirzaev. It is clearly evident that the case is political , and Mirzaev will be sentenced to a much longer term than he deserves.

I personally had a problem. It’s been a long time, I don’t remember exactly, but back in Soviet times. The two argued, fought, and one hit the other. He fell and accidentally hit his head on the rail, and died later in the hospital. The prosecutor's office investigated the case and, at the end, sent it to court with the classification "Murder". I have looked into this matter myself. I ordered an examination and asked the question: “Did death occur from a blow?” “No,” the expert concludes. “What bodily injury?” According to the examination - minor bodily injury.

So, in accordance with this, I passed a sentence for causing minor bodily harm, going to the appropriate article. I don’t remember exactly what the punishment was, but it’s definitely not the actual term.

The one who hit could not assume that the second one would fall and hit the rail. The intent was only to punch him in the face. That's all.

Then, however, the relatives of the deceased came and tried to convince me that the verdict was wrong.

No matter how I explained it to them, they could not agree with this verdict. Then, in order not to argue for a long time, he advised them to send a protest to the Supreme Court. They wrote to the Supreme Court. There the verdict was upheld. But they decided to go all the way and wrote to Moscow. The case was requested from Moscow. We looked at the case and wrote that everything was correct. The sentence is adequate and justified by law.

And here is exactly the same case. Exactly the same. One to one. In general, you can find a lot of these examples throughout Russia.

And after all, everyone at the trial in Mirzaev’s case understands: both prosecutors and judges - everyone knows that they classified the crime incorrectly. For me, there is no doubt about it. But no one talks about it. After all, such a public outcry. Yes, lawyers are trying. I follow the trial on TV and see that the lawyers are asking the right questions. But who hears them, who takes their opinion into account?

I think that Mirzaev will be sentenced to 8 years. And the only thing he can count on is that when passions subside, the sentence will be reviewed and he will be released.
