The area of forest fires in the Tomsk region, whose inhabitants suffer from smoke, have increased by a third over the past day and reached 11 thousand hectares. This was announced by the deputy governor of the region Igor Shatur.
According to Shaturny, about 4, 5 thousand people, hundreds of units of equipment, including aviation, fight fires. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Emergencies took out three mushroom pickers surrounded by fire from the distress zone.
There are no direct threat to the settlements, but the inhabitants of many of them - including Tomsk - suffer from the smog.
The area of forest fires is growing in other regions of Siberia, including in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Tuva. In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, where, according to local residents and activists, he was able to be noted in Nizhnevartovsk and Nefteyugansk.
