A girl injured in a fire in a multi-storey building in Engels (Saratov region) died in the Thermal Injury Center, the regional Center for Disaster Medicine (CDMC) told the Interfax-Volga region agency on Thursday.
“The girl received injuries incompatible with life - 95% deep burns; it was not possible to save her,” said a representative of the Central Medical Committee.
He noted that the husband of the deceased, who received 60% of burns, 20% of them deep, is still in intensive care. Doctors assess his condition as serious.
On Wednesday, in one of the apartments of the ten-story brick apartment building N144 on the street. Telman in Engels there was a fire, the cause of which could presumably have been a household gas explosion. 12 people, including four children, were rescued from the house. Two residents of the damaged apartment were hospitalized.
