Windows computers collected in Russia will rise in price

The price of computers collected in Russia based on Windows will increase by an average of $ 20-25 due to the fact that Microsoft raised the price of the operating system for collectors, writes Vedomosti newspaper in the issue for Friday.

Prices were increased from August 1, 2012. At the same time, the rise in price was affected by both Windows 7, which is now installed on most new computers and Windows 8 , the full version of which will be released on October 26. The price of computers of famous foreign brands, such as Acer, ASUS, LENOVO and SAMSUNG, will not change, since Microsoft concludes agreements with them on preferential conditions.

Microsoft itself has not yet commented on a message increase. The PC assemblers surveyed by Vedomosti believe that the price increased only in Russia, as the company used to provide the Russians with discounts, and now prices have been equal to the level of US and Europe.

Experts also note that the line of “eight” does not include a cheap version of Starter (“initial”), which is in the “seven”, so the prices for new Windows computers will inevitably increase.
