The authorities of Khakassia intend to revive sports horse breeding in the republic; in 2013 they plan to spend 10 million rubles on the purchase of elite horses, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic reported on Monday.

The press service noted that the regional budget for 2013 will include about 10 million rubles for subsidies for the purchase of thoroughbred sports horses. The government of Khakassia is confident that this will give a significant impetus to the development of amateur horse breeding on the basis of herd horse breeding in the region. According to data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Khakassia, the average price of a horse, for example, of the second echelon, is about 350 thousand rubles.
