At the MegaVeganFest festival, which took place this weekend in Moscow's Bauman Garden, two members of the hip-hop group Makulatura, Evgeny Alekhine and Konstantin Strokolsky, were detained. The musicians managed to play only 3 songs from their repertoire, after which a police officer approached them and asked them to leave the stage.

The concert was interrupted after the guys performed the song “Policeman of the Future.” Amid cries of "Shame!" The musicians were taken from the stage, after which they were asked to go to a police bus, where their arrest was announced.

According to Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses on petty hooliganism, under which Evgeniy and Konstantin are accused, the young people were supposed to disrupt public order, “expressing clear disrespect for society, accompanied by obscene language in public places.” The police did not specify what exactly the violation of public order was.

According to one version, the police did not like the topical lyrics of the song “Policeman of the Future,” which mentions Vladimir Putin and the United Russia party:

It is possible that the Makulatura soloists could shout anti-government slogans during their performance.

User Jesus Vegan in a group dedicated to the event on the VKontakte website reports that the reason for the arrest was a complaint from local residents: “The guys from Makulatura are charged with “Petty hooliganism” (21.1 Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason is a call from one of the local residents who heard obscene language (Putin, by the way, had nothing to do with it (c))."

Another version is that the detention was planned in advance by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism (Center “E”), whose representatives were present at the concert.

Evgeny Alekhin and Konstantin Strokolsky spent the entire night at the Basmannoe police station. Today they will be taken to the Basmanny Court, where their administrative case will be considered. Under the article on petty hooliganism, musicians face a fine of 500 to 1000 rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.

One of the group’s lead singers, Konstantin Strokolsky, used to be a member of the banned NBP party.
