“Do not judge, and you will not be convicted; Do not condemn, and you will not be convicted; Farewell, and you will be forgiven; Come on, and will be given to you: with good good, settled, bent and overflowing will send you to your bosom; For, with what measure, measure, it will measure it with you. ”
Apostle Luke
Tomorrow, everyone will write about the end of the trial over Pussy Riot. Therefore, I decided to write today, an advance, so to speak. There is practically no one can influence the legal results of the sentence, but there are practically no political and moral. From my point of view, the state was the main beneficiary of this drama, and the Church became the main loser.
The Kremlin carried out an effective mobilization of its main electoral resource - lumpen, right marginal, condo traditionalists. He has not been looking for understanding from other social groups for a long time, and therefore can allow ignoring their indignation. But you need to encourage your own. Now that the course of “Orthodox psychotherapy” is over, it is more expensive to continue this grotesque show. By logic, the power has achieved its goals, and it is time to turn off the performance. By inertia, the girls will still get, but most likely there will be no special atrocities. The Supreme Judge said not to judge too strictly. So it will be strict, but not too much.
Paradoxically, the Kremlin’s reputational losses, and, therefore, the authorities as a whole, are not as great as it seems to many.
The extra details of the general picture do not change.
That the power is inadequate was obvious after the December rallies in Bolotnaya Square and a hysterical reaction to them.
That there is no independent court in Russia, it was clear even with examples of the Khodorkovsky and Magnitsky case, this court did not show us anything new.
That our bureaucracy (including the judicial) ignorantly, rudely, swagger and arrogantly is generally known since the time of Saltykov-Shchedrin.
So, if you think about it, Putin, planting girls in prison for at least six months, did not particularly risk anything. It is impossible to fall below the place where he settled. No one has had illusions except those who cherish them for a long time. And those who do not want to abandon illusions can not be leaning.
But you can’t say this about the church. There was something to lose. And there were illusions (even if not everyone, but many), and there was hope, and faith (residual).
I’ll clarify that the blow was struck not on Orthodoxy (this is a separate topic), namely on the Orthodox Church as a public institution. Thus, the right of the shepherds of this church is the moral guards of their flock. Here, too, it seems that there is nothing new for knowledgeable people. But still there were a lot of unknowing or at least not interested. Now many have become interested and thought. Too many to let this church in the nearest and even distant years let live calmly.
The most important thing is that
The scandal did not give rise to an anti -ical atheistic movement in its pure form. Rather, on the contrary, he revealed the powerful religious charge of Russian society. The church is attacked not so much with atheistic as exactly from the "truly Christian" positions.
And this makes the position of the church even more complicated. She must beat in her own, excommunicate those who believe, often, more closely than the "hell -shots" themselves. This creates another voltage line in society around the questions of faith. The development of events on this front line is difficult to predict, but it can influence anything you want, and turn any rational political process into irrational.
The immediate consequences of this process will soon sink into oblivion. The authorities will do many new nonsense, new atrocities will make the old atrocities forget, in the light of new nonsense, the old nonsense will seem to be a manifestation of wisdom. But long-term consequences will affect more than once after many, many years. And, perhaps, those who, dealing with these consequences, will delve into “Russian antiquity”, will be very surprised that such a large-scale historical shift began with some strange and unnecessary process over three singers.
