The Chinese company Lenovo is one of the first plans to release a tablet based on Windows 8. This will happen immediately with the release of a new operating system in October. The device will be equipped with an Intel Atom processor and a 10.1-inch display. The novelty will be called Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 (the name ThinkPad Tablet is reserved for Lenovo tablet on the Android platform).
The number of nuclei and processor frequency is not reported. The tablet will work under the control of the Windows 8 Pro operating system, reports CNews.ru with reference to Pocket-lint.
In addition to ThinkPad Tablet 2, the company will release a stylus (although the tablet will be designed for “finger” control) and the connected mechanical keyboard for increased convenience when working with text data.
The company also said that the device will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner to protect access to the system. This is already a fairly common function in corporate devices. The thickness of the tablet will be 9.8 mm, and the weight will not exceed 600 g.
