The current world champion in hammer throw, athlete Natalya Lysenko became an Olympic champion, setting two Olympic records. In the first attempt, Lysenko sent the projectile to 77 m 56 cm, thereby surpassing the previous record (Belarusian athlete Oksana Menkova - 76 m 34 cm at the Beijing Olympics - editor's note), and in the fifth attempt Lysenko's throw of 78 m 18 cm brought her gold.

Russian synchronized swimmers won another gold. The girls' program was rated at 98.930 points, which made one of the team members, Anastasia Davydova, a five-time Olympic champion. This achievement is a record for synchronized swimmers.

Today, the 15th day of the Summer Olympic Games, the Russian team won two more gold medals: Sergey Kirdyapkin - in one of the most difficult disciplines, race walking, setting a new Olympic record - 50 km, and the pair Alexander Dyachenko and Yuriy Postrigay - in the kayaking race - doubles at a distance of 200 m.
