Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev recently opened our eyes to the world: it turns out that lovers of iPads and iPhones were mistaken in thinking that “the whole world is concentrated online.” In fact, “all citizens of the country, with the exception of a rather narrow group of people,” excuse me, “do not care” about the set of topics that concern site visitors.

The most discussed topic on the Internet right now is the Olympics, but if you disconnect from the network, you will find out that it seems to be almost non-existent. It is enough to drive twenty kilometers from Moscow, stay with Channel One and Russia 1, and you will find that the focus of attention of the “citizens of the country” is not the sports battles in London, but Andrei Malakhov and the exciting family and everyday squabbles he discussed during the Olympic finals.

Channel One frankly doesn’t care about the Olympics: it is shown in therapeutic doses, late at night, clearly not wanting to target a “narrow group of people.” The most accessible TV channel shows the Olympics so badly that even Konstantin Ernst was forced to go to London to watch it.
