The Barto group at one time had a conflict with the authorities because of the song "Ready". The soloist Maria Lyubichev was called to Petrovka 38 after this song was performed at a rally of the defenders of the Khimki forest in 2010. The group was charged with extremism. In February 2011, the case was closed. In May 2012, the album "Hello! Totalitarism" was released. Maria Lyubicheva presented the new clip released in support of Pussy Riot in the Pussy Riot .

- The protagonist of your song is a character of one of the shares of the “War” group “Ment in the Popovskaya Row”.

- Yes, this is he - Mentopop. The director of the clip focused on this.

- Mentopop sees the performance of Pussy Riot in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and begins to make it. And when you first saw the recording of the punk-summer, what did you think?

- I did not experience a storm of emotions, because before that I was familiar with the actions of the "war" and what Pussy Riot did. It seemed to me that this is a strong move. And I did not think that there would be such a negative reaction to their performance, all the more it would reach criminal prosecution, it never occurred to me.

“Have you been scared for them at all?”

- No, I thought that this was a strong move in the plan that the Church and the state, the active planting of Orthodoxy, is going on, although we have freedom of religion. I thought it was a very vivid performance against this. I was not afraid for them, it never occurred to me that there could be such consequences. When the St. Petersburg Group "War" set fire to the autozaki and turned the cars, it seemed to me that it should have great consequences than what Pussy Riot did. But it turned out the other way around.

-How did the idea create a cover version of the punk mayor?

- We saw what an ambiguous attitude in society to all this we saw that many people do not understand why some Orthodox and the intelligentsia support Pussy Riot. In addition, we saw that various promotions were held in support, and we thought that we could also do something. Since we are a musical team, we decided that it was best to make a cover for that very scandalous song, with our refinement, with our musical vision. There were people who made the video, so everything worked out.

-Many Western stars clearly held Pussy Riot, and Russian musicians either preferred to remain silent, someone supported with reservations, and many condemned. Why such a contrast?

- I am close to the position of Western musicians who said: we are for Pussy Riot to release. We definitely play for this with our caster. Girls are sitting illegally, and the whole trial resembles a circus and a farce, it is just monstrous. Whatever there can be reservations, personal attitude, attitude of a believer, but this is just lawlessness.

- And what, do you think there will be a sentence?

- Before Putin said that they could not be punished harshly, I was sure that they would be imprisoned for a real term. Now my doubts crept in of the fact that the verdict was postponed until August 17. The authorities now, it seems to me, decides what to do with such world support and with a split within society in Russia. Therefore, I think the deadline will be conditional.
