Through the wall - to the stars

I heard about the proposal of State Duma deputy Franz Klintsevich to correct systemic failures in the space industry by “returning the death penalty for war criminals” on Monday morning in a bathhouse. From the bathhouse shelf, the deputy was supported by a middle-aged and, undoubtedly, educated person who had worked all his life in space rocket science.

Klintsevich's interview appeared in Izvestia on Monday morning. In the afternoon, not sure about the accuracy of the information of a random bath comrade, I typed the name Klintsevich in Yandex, and the third line (even before the “biography”), this most popular Russian-language search engine helpfully threw out: “Klintsevich is the death penalty.” That is, this news (if not a new idea can be called that) attracted tens of thousands of users in a few hours. The very popularity of the idea of ​​the death penalty does not allow one to dismiss it as simply stupidity.

This dispute is ancient, there are a lot of well-known arguments, which I will not give in detail, since they are rather a matter of faith. For example, Klintsevich, as a prominent member of the United Russia, probably goes to church, but he hardly remembers now that she is Christian: from a modern Christian point of view, to punish with the death penalty, except (and even then debatably) for the most brutal murders, is a game. The death penalty is an irrevocable decision. This is important for suddenly bred "pedophiles". According to Klintsevich, they also need to be put into consumption as soon as possible. But we, the chosen people, are never mistaken in anything, and our judgment is just. Is not it?

A veteran of the Afghan war (which, by the way, did not solve any problems for the USSR) promotes the only tool that he was once taught to use: weapons. In his parliamentary impulse, he simply replaces the Kalashnikov assault rifle with the Criminal Code, seeing in it a "newest" and miraculous weapon.

It is worth the Russian hero to wave the magical Criminal Code - and we will immediately win the next Olympic Games, satellites will stop falling on our heads from heaven, broken dams will overgrow by themselves, bandits will perish like undead with the morning crow of a rooster, nursing homes burned down in fires will be built back, and there, you see, the people who died in the terrorist attacks will be resurrected... This is the temptation, the fatal tale about a panacea, in the possibility of which millions of Russians, who have not learned anything over the past hundred years, are ready to believe in delight.

In fact, the catastrophes and simple failures that haunt us in everything we have taken on lately are not united by this magical (in the sense of logic built backwards) and simplified way of getting rid of problems. What they have in common is the cause (as well as the horror of having to think, realize it, and sort it out).

To see the reason, let's take a look at the same State Duma of the Russian Federation. The deputy mandate of "United Russia" - is this not a measure of success? We are by no means talking about Franz Klintsevich, but statistically about the entire mass of deputies at all levels, as well as governors, mayors, heads of administrations, prosecutors, judges and just officials who receive good and stable salaries. Do not mothers and TVs tell children about them, are they not an example to follow?

But are they the most educated, hardworking and qualified specialists in their field? Educated people are not in legislative assemblies, they are either at a humiliating rate in research institutes (in a hospital, at school), or already in Germany. Everyone in Rus' understands that for the coveted EP membership card, which at the same time is a magical pass to higher spheres, it is not labor and education that are needed at all, but obedience and loyalty. And if you try to be smart, you can also end up on the bunk.

To pump oil with the help of foreign equipment from deposits explored back in the USSR is not a big deal. In general, you don’t need a mind, and even more so a conscience. But to be zealous (and to make mistakes, as happens with zeal) in those areas that Izvestia, echoing Klintsevich, for some reason call "military", is now simply dangerous: just look, "the execution will return." If there are people left in Rus' who simply cannot but study and work conscientiously because of their exterminated human nature, then for them there is a road that Prince Kurbsky paved under Ivan the Terrible (and if anyone in the Duma has not heard about this story - so, please: you need to study!).

There can be nothing but failures in a country where the most obvious success is ensured not by professional growth, but only by career, loyal suction to the oil pipe at all levels, up to the passport officer of the DEZ. Here, of course, the factor of corruption is also important: it is the basis and core of such a career. It is no coincidence and tempting for corruption (after the "military" and pedophiles) deputy Klintsevich also offers to "return execution."

Now a question for deputy Klintsevich: with whom shall we begin? Who will determine the order? And after we also put this one against the wall? There will be no answer. But if “corrupt officials” are too tough, then there will always be “foreign agents” in the form of meat for executions. This is where you just have to start.
