In Krasnodar, they are looking for the instigators of a mass brawl

The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident in the village of Plodorodny (a suburb of Krasnodar), where last Sunday about a dozen visiting construction workers beat up local residents. Six people were injured during the fight. Krasnodar Police Chief Oleg Agarkov invited residents of the village to a gathering on Wednesday evening to clarify all the details of the incident.

The Krasnodar Ministry of Internal Affairs told Kommersant that the police are checking information about the mass beating of residents of the village of Plodorodny, which appeared on social networks and forums on the Internet on Wednesday. The police did not provide any other details of the incident. The head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city, Ilya Shakalov, explained to Kommersant that a citizens’ gathering with the participation of the city’s police chief Oleg Agarkov is scheduled for 19:00 in the village of Plodorodny, at which citizens will have the opportunity to talk about what they saw. The Krasnodar administration also did not comment on the incident, referring questions to law enforcement agencies. In connection with the fight, a criminal case was opened under two articles of the Criminal Code - Art. 115 (“Intentional infliction of minor harm to health”) and Art. 116 (“Beatings”).

As a resident of the village, who asked not to use her name, told Kommersant, on Sunday around noon she saw a crowd of people, possibly immigrants from the republics of the North Caucasus, from 10 to 15 people appear on the street. The woman explained that she had met these people before at the construction site of the Cherry Orchard cottage community or at some other construction site. Moving along the street, the hooligans hit random passers-by several times, and then attacked five local residents sitting in a gazebo, among whom was a 16-year-old teenager. “Everything happened quickly - the hooligans beat the men and immediately disappeared,” a witness told Kommersant. After the attack, the teenager received medical attention and was found to have a mild concussion. According to the witness, the victims did not know the hooligans; there had been no previous conflicts between them.

According to other sources, the fight was preceded by a quarrel - on Sunday morning, local residents laughed at two drunken builders, and they returned to take revenge on the offenders. Kommersant’s interlocutor denied some media reports that the police refused to intervene in the conflict, and then the duty station allegedly refused to take action on the victims’ statements. “The police and ambulance arrived immediately, but the hooligans had already fled,” said the witness. “Over the course of two days, we, eyewitnesses, were called several times to give testimony and identify the detainees.” At the same time, the woman expressed doubts that those who participated in the beating have now been detained: according to information from residents of the village, the participants in the fight packed their things and left Krasnodar that same day.
