Thunderstorms with hail and squally winds are expected in Karachay-Cherkessia

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Karachay-Cherkessia warns of possible emergency situations due to heavy thunderstorms with hail and squally winds up to 18 m/s expected in the republic on Thursday.

“On the territory of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, there remains the possibility of emergencies not exceeding the municipal level associated with flooding of low-lying and coastal areas caused by rain runoff, as well as damage to poles and broken power lines, roofs of light buildings, and the fall of tree branches,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.

The agency appeals to residents of the region to be extremely attentive to radio and television messages from local government representatives, and to strictly follow their recommendations: stay away from trees, metal structures and balconies, and postpone long trips.
