Ex-head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Lutsenko was sentenced to two years

The Pechersky District Court of Kiev sentenced the ex-head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Lutsenko to two years in prison in the case of official negligence in the extension of operational-search measures against Valentin Davidenko, the driver of the former deputy head of the SBU Vladimir Satsyuk, reports RIA Novosti . Other defendants - former police officers Vladimir Tarasenko and Oleg Pannov - were appointed 8.5 thousand hryvnias.

Recall that Lutsenko, in the framework of the second criminal case, was accused of organizing illegal surveillance of Davidenko in the case of the poisoning of Viktor Yushchenko in 2004, who at that time was a presidential candidate. Lutsenko did not admit his guilt, since the matter, in his opinion, was political. The state prosecutor requested Lutsenko for two years and six months.

In February, Lutsenko was sentenced to four years in prison for the expiration of state property and abuse of powers.

Recall that this week the CEC of Ukraine refused Lutsenko and Tymoshenko to run to the parliamentary elections, which will be held on October 28, according to the party list of the united opposition. The defense of Lutsenko and Tymoshenko intends to submit an appellation and challenge the decision of the CEC.
