The Israeli authorities relocated one of the batteries of the Iron Dome missile defense system to the tourist eilat area in the very south of the country, MIGNEWS reports on Monday with reference to local media.
The battery was installed near the residential area in the north-west of the city, next to the place where the wreckage of a rocket launched five days ago from the Sinai Peninsula was found.
However, the military deny that they were transferred to Eilat due to shelling. According to them, the Iron Dome appeared there to test the system, which for effective work needs to be studied by the topography of the area. The same reasons were the reason for the installation of the battery in the northeast of the state, in the Tsfat area.
Meanwhile, the search for the second rocket, which allegedly hit the environs of Eilat, stopped in the IDF. It is believed that the militants still released one rocket.
