We are not afraid, we are very angry

The statement by the leader of the OGF Harry Kasparov in connection with the detention on August 17 near the Khamovnik court during the announcement of the sentence in the Pussy Riot case.

On numerous videos that everyone can find on the Internet, you can clearly see how the police detain me while communicating with journalists, and then beat me. I plan to file claims for illegal detention and abuse of authority by police officers.

A large number of video and photo materials available at my disposal categorically refute the accusations made against me by the police that I attacked a policeman and bit his hand. There are no bite or wound certificates in the video, as well as the policeman reactions to this. Art. 318 (clause 1) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for a fine of 200 thousand rubles or an imprisonment in prison for up to 5 years.

On Monday, on August 20, I should interview me on an attack on a police officer and after that the issue of initiating criminal prosecution against me will be resolved in the SKRF. On August 23, I must come to the court, where the issue of my participation in the "unauthorized rally on August 17" will be considered.

Both accusations are false, and in any free country with an independent court they would be immediately rejected, especially after watching video materials.

Unfortunately, whatever evidence, this will help me little in the Moscow court. The verdict to the members of the Pussy Riot group by the two years of the colony for the anti -Putinsky performance is another demonstration that the rule of law begins and ends in the Kremlin, and is not based on the Constitution.

They want to intimidate us. We are not afraid, we are very angry.
