An outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) has been eliminated in the Nekouzsky district of the Yaroslavl region, the Rosselkhoznadzor department for the Yaroslavl region reported on Monday.
Specialists of the anti-epizootic headquarters carried out all the necessary measures to eliminate and localize the virus in accordance with current legislation, the report says. Within a radius of 10 km from the site of infection, all pigs were destroyed, and disinfection of the territory and educational work among the population on ASF prevention were carried out. In addition, 24-hour security and quarantine posts were created.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of ASF.
