The Trullo Council did not allow campaigning for candidates in elections

The religious feelings of Vladimir Mekhanikov from Vologda were insulted by a drunken abbot . Mine is the bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church who campaigned for Putin. The application was sent to the prosecutor's office of the Tyumen region on August 19.

I can imagine the headache of a prosecutor who will have to rely on the Trullo Council as evidence of a violation of the law on freedom of religion. I couldn't stand it.

According to him, the video shows a clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church - Bishop Evtihiy of Domodedovo (Ivan Timofeevich Kurochkin), conducting a service in the Epiphany Cathedral in the city of Ishim, Tyumen Region. During the service, they make calls to vote in the elections on March 4, 2012 for the candidate from the United Russia party, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

These actions are illegal for the following reasons.

According to Part 5 of Article 4 of the Federal Law “On Freedom of Religion and Religious Organizations”, in accordance with the constitutional principle of separation of religious associations from the state, a religious association does not participate in the activities of political parties and political movements, and does not provide them with material or other assistance.

According to paragraph d) of Part 7 of Article 48 of the Federal Law “On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Right to Participate in a Referendum of Citizens of the Russian Federation”, it is prohibited to conduct election campaigning, campaigning on referendum issues, or to produce and distribute any campaign materials for charitable and religious organizations, organizations established by them , as well as members and participants of religious associations when performing rituals and ceremonies.

What is happening in the video is a religious ceremony, provided for by the 19th rule of the Sixth Ecumenical (Trullo) Council: “The heads of churches must on all days, especially on Sundays, teach the entire clergy and people the words of piety, choosing from the Divine Scripture the understanding and reasoning of the truth and without transgressing already set limits and the tradition of the God-bearing fathers."

As a baptized Christian and a voter of another candidate, I am offended by the behavior of a person in the robes of a clergyman during a religious ceremony. Expressing his opinion on political issues in a different situation would not have been such an insult to me.

Based on this, I ask:

1. Establish the authenticity of the video recording and the correspondence of the person in the video recording in the robes of a clergyman to the personality of Ivan Timofeevich Kurochkin;

2. Initiate a case(s) based on identified facts of violations of laws;

3. Inform me personally about the measures taken based on my application."
