Why is the Investigative Committee writing to Venediktov?

So the Investigative Committee turned to the leadership of Ekho Moskvy with a demand to provide telephone numbers, email addresses and other contacts of Navalny, Nemtsov, Sobchak, Udaltsov, Yashin and a number of other oppositionists. The investigators also demand that we provide them with information about radio broadcasts with our participation, starting from April 22.
When they called me from Echo and told me about this, I will say frankly that I thought I had misheard. The fact is that my phone has long been regularly tapped by intelligence agencies. My telephone conversations are published in yellow media controlled by Putin, contrary to the Criminal Code (Articles 137 and 138). All of our homes and offices were searched. When drawing up protocols, each of us provided our telephone numbers and contacts. In addition, we were repeatedly summoned for questioning by the Investigative Committee in the so-called case of mass riots on May 6. During these interrogations, protocols were also drawn up and we repeatedly indicated our contacts.

And here it is, on you. It turns out that they don’t know anything about us, there are no contacts of ours, and it turns out that Venediktov knows everything, but for some reason he is silent.

In fact, if we discard the version that they are insane or trying to look like one, the picture is as follows: Putin and his entourage instructed Bastrykin to fabricate a case against opposition leaders and civil activists at all costs. As part of this case, an investigation team of unprecedented size was created, which includes hundreds of investigators. These investigators carried out “tremendous” work - more than 2 thousand people were interrogated, 15 activists were jailed and accused. The case is being investigated under Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mass riots), under which the prison term is up to 10 years (part 1 - organization).

Putin’s goal is, in the face of the upcoming autumn protests, which he is terrified of, to decapitate the opposition and thereby bring down the wave of protest. The Chekist thought works only in one direction - if you find the instigators and neutralize them, or even better, find the State Department’s money, then everything will resolve itself. The fact that the KGB thought is hopelessly behind modern times and is nothing more than total paranoia cannot be explained to Putin. Putin also does not understand that people come out not at all to watch and listen to opposition leaders, but because they are fed up with lies, hypocrisy and theft. But he stubbornly demands repression and imprisonment.

So the investigators are trying, and so they are looking for signs of extremism and calls for an armed uprising on the air of Echo of Moscow. The volumes of the criminal case will soon no longer fit in the building on Tekhnichesky Lane, and Bastrykin will request an expansion of the space.

Meanwhile, preparations for the autumn protests are in full swing. On August 27, the Krasnoyarsk-Moscow motor rally starts, and on September 15, a mass protest against arbitrariness, corruption and theft will take place in Moscow.
