Somehow, unbeknownst to ourselves, my comrades and I from the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Left Front suddenly became “extremists.” And the situation was as follows.
The administration of Nizhny Novgorod, having undergone a therapy session organized by the LIFE “BY THE LAW” project, took the only right path and began to coordinate protest actions in the city center. At one of these events - a picket in support of political prisoners - the coordinator of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Left Front, Alexander Krasnov, was given this paper, which speaks in black and white about our movement committing extremist activities:
Either I missed something, or the Center for Countering Extremism and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region have some too peculiar views on the concept of “extremism”. I tried to go through the actions we have been carrying out recently: LIFE “BY THE LAW” (the name speaks for itself - our right to submit as many papers as we like to the administration); associated with ZH "PZ" Procession for a loaf of bread , Protest wedding , Procession in search of a man also faintly smack of extremism; The picket in support of political prisoners , pickets against increasing fares on social buses also did not contain calls for the violent overthrow of the current government, rallies“For free education” - similarly; The fight against infill development is not a political matter at all. You can, of course, remember #OccupyNN in May, but even here there was nothing of what is attributed to the Left Front in the said paper.
In this regard, State Duma deputy and member of the Left Front Ilya Ponomarev sent the following request to Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika:

Expressing gratitude to Ilya Ponomarev, I would also like to hope that the request will be followed by a detailed and detailed answer, from which my comrades and I will finally learn what our “extremism” is hidden in. In the meantime, it seems that the CPE simply decided to intimidate the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Left Front, which has become more active in recent months, with some amorphous accusations, which, as it seems to me, are more like slander.
