Midfielder of the American club Los Angeles Galaxy David Beckham scored a goal from a direct corner kick. This happened during the CONCACAF (Confederation of North and Central American and Caribbean Football) Champions League match with the Isidro Metapan club from El Salvador.

The corner kick was awarded in the 45th minute of the match with the score 2:1 in favor of the Galaxy. The video of Beckham's goal was posted on YouTube . From the corner, the midfielder sent the ball into the near corner, and the ball bounced into the goal from the hands of the goalkeeper.

The scoring in the match between Los Angeles Galaxy and Isidro Metapan was opened by Salvadoran club footballer Nicolas Muñoz, who scored in the 17th minute. Three minutes later, Beckham's pass led to Ricardo Alvarado's own goal. In the 22nd minute, Robbie Keane gave the Galaxy the lead with a pass from Beckham.

In the second half, Juninho scored two goals for the American club, and Muñoz scored again for the Salvadorans. The match ended in victory for Los Angeles Galaxy with a score of 5:2.

The match against the Salvadoran club was the Galaxy's first in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League. The team from Los Angeles plays in Group 5. Now the Galaxy have three points, the same number for Isidro Metapan (but after two matches). The last place is occupied by the Puerto Rico Islanders club, which lost its only match.
