Self-defense units may appear in Dagestan

The President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov proposes to create self-defense units in the regions and cities of the republic.

“We will make a decision in every city, in every district to organize self-defense units, squads of young people who are ready, under the leadership and together with the internal affairs bodies, to work to ensure security, to punish bandits and terrorists,” Magomedov said at an emergency meeting of the Security Council republic, which took place after the murder of the Islamic scholar Sheikh Said-Afandi of Chirkey and six other people in the village of Chirkey.

“We must do everything that is necessary for this - organizationally and financially. We must find both the money and everything necessary for this,” the head of Dagestan noted.
