The Belarusian station can be connected to the Kazan underground railway

The Moscow authorities consider the possibility of connecting the Belarusian station with Komsomolskaya Square by a railway message that would have passed underground, said Maxim Liksutov, head of the capital's department of transport and development of road transport infrastructure.

During the direct line, the reader of the newspaper "Moscow Komsomolets" asked the official whether there were projects that allow you to remove railways underground, as is done in many cities of the world.

“The fact is that our underground space is strongly saturated with the objects of the metro and engineering infrastructure, so it is difficult to conduct new construction. For example, in New York, the station was initially planned to the Times Square, and railway trains under the city have been going on for many years. Nevertheless, we have been thinking about the possibility of implementing such projects in Moscow,” Liksutov said.

In particular, according to him, there is a proposal to connect the Belorussky station with the Kazan station or with an area of ​​three stations with the underground diameter.

“There, I repeat, there are a lot of restrictions - either existing tunnels, or zones of historical monuments, or it is impossible to conduct work at all, therefore, it is difficult to say this idea,” the head of the department explained.
