"Where are your church here?"

In Chelyabinsk, local art activists hung a figure on the wall of the building, depicting one of the members of the Pussy Riot group. The girl’s waist sculpture in Balaclava appeared on Friday night on the wall of the building at the intersection of Sverdlovsky Prospekt and Lenin Avenue near the Aloe Field store. According to the "New Region", the figure is made of polyethylene stretched onto the wire frame. With one hand she squeezes the microphone, and the second shows the rocker “goat”, directed towards the temple of Alexander Nevsky located across the road. At the base of the sculpture, the inscription: "Where are your church here?"

By one o'clock in the afternoon, the owners of a nearby store took off the sculpture from the wall, "so as not to scare buyers." The responsibility for the action was taken by local artists. One of the authors of the installation, Mikhail, told REGNUM that there is no political subtext in the action, and the doll itself is rather a mockery of Pussy Riot. "The sculpture turned out to be funny, and, in general, this is all just a joke, the purpose of which is to cause the wide smiles of the townspeople," he said. “We specially chose an ownerless building for installation so as not to violate the law,” added Mikhail. “We just wanted to laugh at the situation with Pussy Riot is given too much attention.”

The rector of the Chelyabinsk Holy Trinity Church of Father Igor Shestakov did not cause a smile. In his opinion , inadequate people are capable of such actions. “It is understandable, while we will discuss the court decision with such fury, we provoke a wave of psychosis. The case in Kazan is indicative. Let's think about it and give the court to figure it out. If we imagine ourselves the judges, then let's abandon the state and make a lynching. But then there will be nothing to complain later,” he said.

“The diocese will not take any steps on this occasion, since there is a lot of honor to respond to every provocation. I can only say that the people who do this have neither mind nor heart. If they want some momentary glory: a video in YouTube, as an angry priest destroys their scarecrow, they will not wait for this,” added .

Prior to this, the action of street artists in support of Pussy Riot was held in Krasnoyarsk . There, activists of the local art group Migraine chose several streets on which the temples stand, and hung signs with the names of the arrested participants in the punk group. Thus, the usual Street of January 9 and Surikov (on which are the Holy Blagoschensky Monastery and the Pokrovsky Cathedral) for one day turned into N. Tolokonnikova Street, M. Alekhina Street and E. Samutsevich Street.
