On August 31, 2012, events dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the Second World War began in the Khabarovsk Territory.
The solemn events themselves in Khabarovsk began with the laying of a wreath and flowers to the eternal fire of the memorial in Square of Glory. The ceremony was attended by Metropolitan and Amur Ignatius, Governor Vyacheslav Shport, representatives of the President of the Russian Federation to the Far Eastern Federal District, Veterans, Public Organizations and Studying Classes.
Speaking at the solemn evening dedicated to this anniversary of the end of World War II, Governor Vyacheslav Shport noted that almost 14 thousand war veterans live in the region, including more than two thousand front -line soldiers. Almost every second of them is a participant in the war with militaristic Japan. In the region there was a system of social support for veterans. This year, almost 286 million rubles were allocated for this direction. The regional program "Elder generation" is being implemented. In the region, the traditional regional actions “Veteran lives nearby” and “Far Eastern shrines of the combat glory of Russia” continue. The delegation of veterans and youth of the region flew to China, where she would visit the burials of Russian and Soviet soldiers.
“Historical justice has been restored, which were expected and repeatedly initiated by the veterans-footers. But we very much hope that the country's leadership will take into account another patriotic initiative of our citizens - about the assignment of the honorary title “City of Military Glory” by the capital of the Khabarovsk Territory, ”said Vyacheslav Shport.
The solemn evening continued with a festive concert, which was not only the best creative groups of the region, but also guests from Vladivostok - the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Pacific Fleet, the press service of the governor and the government of the Khabarovsk Territory (http://khabkrai.ru/newsfull.html?id=2114 )
We should always remember that the result of fierce battles, the Far East coped with the Million Kwantun Army in two weeks. On August 9, Soviet troops went on the offensive, on August 19, Japanese troops almost everywhere began to surrender, and on September 2, 1945 an act was signed on the unconditional surrender of Japan. An illusion of the "ease" of this victory may occur. Who opposed our soldiers? The Kwantun Army (Commander -in -Chief of General Yamad Otodzo) totaled 31 Infantry Division, 9 infantry brigades, 1 special forces brigade (suicide bombers) and 2 tank brigades; It included three fronts (1st, 3rd and 17th) consisting of 6 armies, one separate army, two Air Army and the Sungarian military flotilla. In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Kwantun Army was promptly subordinate: the Army of the Manzhou-Suy-2 Infantry and 2 cavalry divisions, 12 infantry brigades, 4 separate cavalry regiments, the troops of the inner Mongolia (Prince de Van) and the Suyuan army group, which had 4 infantry and 5 cavalry divisions and 2 Cavalry brigades. The total number of enemy was 1320 thousand people, 6260 guns and mortars, 1155 tanks, 1900 aircraft and 25 ships! And this Samurai War Machine was divided into chips! On September 2, 1945, Japan was forced to sign an act of unconditional surrender. The Soviet Army defeated the Kwantonese - the Japanese lost more than 700 thousand people killed and captured. The losses of the Soviet troops amounted to 13 thousand people killed and 48 thousand wounded. We suffered these losses after the celebration of the Victory Parade on Red Square on June 24, 1945, when our whole country rejoiced and celebrated our great victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War ...
It must be emphasized that the end of the war in the Far East saved many thousands of American and English soldiers from possible death, saved millions of Japanese citizens from victims and suffering and prevented the extermination of the Japanese occupiers of the peoples of Eastern and Eastern Asia.
On September 3, 1945, a holiday was established to commemorate the Great Patriotic War on September 3, 1945 - the Victory Day over Japan, and on September 30, the medal “For Victory over Japan” was established, which was awarded 1,725,700 people.
Since 2010, this day of our military glory was again inscribed in the calendar of commemorative dates of Russia, but it is especially widely celebrated in the Far East of Russia. Today, more than six hundred veterans - direct participants in the events that took place in 1945 in the Far East live in the Far Eastern capital - Khabarovsk.
According to Newskhab.ru, with reference to the press service of the administration of the city of Khabarovsk, in honor of the 67th anniversary of the World War II in Khabarovsk, rallies and laying ceremony in the city are also held in Khabarovsk. Events dedicated to the commemorative date will continue on September 1 and 2 - these are watches of memory, rallies, color laying, festive programs. And on September 3, at the Eternal Flame on the Square of Glory to the solemn rally "Equal for victory!" 2,800 young Khabarovsk residents will gather to honor the memory of the heroes-old-age heroes who gave their lives for the independence of their homeland.
The history of Russia has always been rich in significant events worthy of being immortalized in folk memory. In all centuries, the heroism and courage of Russian soldiers, the power and glory of Russian weapons were an integral part of the greatness of the Russian state. The commemorative date - September 2 - this is a kind of second day of victory - victory over Japan, which just ended with the Second World War - which is celebrated in many countries of the world, and now in Russia.
Happy holiday, dear fellow countrymen and compatriots! Glory to the Russian soldier and Russian weapons!
