The prosecutor's office of Udmurtia has identified an illegal legal act adopted by the head of the Kezskoye municipal formation, which approved the calendar dates for the main activities for the preparation and conduct of elections to the Council of Deputies of the Kezsky district of the fifth convocation, the press service of the republican prosecutor's office reports.
According to the department, the resolution was dated June 5, 2012, however, the elections specified in it “had already been held on December 4, 2011 and were recognized as valid; the dates of the elections were not postponed.”
The department notes that this resolution contradicts the legislation of the republic, according to which calling elections and setting deadlines for their holding falls within the powers of the head of the district. Upon protest from the district prosecutor, the resolution, adopted in excess of authority, was cancelled.
