Demushkin could not become a candidate for the mayors of Kaliningrad

The leader of the nationalist movement "Russians" Dmitry Demushkin was refused to register a candidate for mayor of Kaliningrad. This was reported by Demushkin himself on his VKontakte page. The reason for the refusal was "carelessly compiled documents", Demushkin said. According to the rules, the election commander was supposed to call a candidate or his representatives at least two days before the meeting of the commission to discuss claims to the collected signatures, he noted. Claims had to be entered in the final protocol. “As you understand, neither the protocol nor actually nor my representatives called me anywhere and did not give anything, and did not justify anything. Just“ carelessly compiled documents ”, they didn’t even try to come up with something,” Demushkin writes.

The leader of the "Russians" was nominated by supporters of local nationalist, democratic movements and "regionalists" to mayor. The initiative group said that they were ready to take on the collection of signatures and the functioning of the Demushkin election headquarters. For a successful passage of registration, the candidate had to collect signatures of 0.5 percent of the total number of voters.

Demushkin explained then that activists will collect signatures without his participation, which will need to be provided in the near future in the election. According to the nationalist, he will not be able to participate in the campaign because of his employment in the construction of the party.

Demushkin also claimed the place of the Presidential Council for Human Rights. Last month, he stated that the application was sent from the “Russians” to include him himself, as well as the former State Duma deputy from the LDPR Nikolai Kuryanovich. The Council for the Message reacted calmly. The head of the organization, Mikhail Fedotov, noted that they will not replace the obstacles to nationalists, but they will have to prove their positive experience in the field of protecting human rights.

However, Demushkin did not hit the short list of candidates for the CNC, published on the Council on August 31 website.
