Blogger against garbage 2012. Omsk. We won!

Yesterday, September 8, an important event took place. Federal level. The famous blogger Sergei Dolya, third or fourth in the LiveJournal rankings, managed to organize the entire country and get everyone out of their cozy armchairs and warm apartments in order to hold a grandiose cleanup event “Blogger Against Garbage.” In our Omsk, the coordinator of this action was a LiveJournal user with a rating of less than fifty thousand, that is, me. What and how came of it - read below:

He was able to allocate a car a day before the start and organized everything competently. Special thanks to the driver. In the background you can see the vans of the DHL company, which this year was not the official link between Moscow and the regions, sending out boxes of equipment. Instead, PEC successfully and quickly completed this task, which also has a huge advantage for using air delivery. Let's get back to DHL and their cars. They were not sponsors, they did not deliver, so why were they here? The answer to the question is simple: this is an example of civic responsibility to the city, to yourself, to the company and to the situation that requires simple physical assistance. Stanislav Yukhanson, the head of the Omsk branch of DHL, simply called me the day before and warned me with a smile: “We will come! Just like that!”... He did not find out who should be where at what moment, but simply observed the posts on VKontakte and in the group. As a result, a DHL van filled with full green bags persistently looked for garbage heaps, for which Stas and his entire team receive a low bow and a plus from the organizer. Thank you guys! 3. The Clean City company provided an excellent and nimble garbage truck. Somewhat unexpectedly, there was NO drinking water to be found from the sponsor Coca-Cola, although their logo was clearly printed on the flag and T-shirts. Consider the previous sentence as a question to the federal organizers. We had to buy water with our own money. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. As a result - about 100 bags of general collection and 77 bags of separate waste, sent for recycling on Monday. 9. Bloggers of Omsk who are against garbage, this is me, in 50,000th place in the LiveJournal ranking, this is the head of a transport company, a person without a blog, a schoolgirl with a couple of hundred tweets and two students with three posts in LiveJournal. Thank you all so much, guys! Together we organized about 80 people, 10 of whom were ordinary passers-by, without Twitter or other communications. Gratitude for the active participation of the group “Omsk-Clean City”, “Omsk-City for People” and Alexey, a fighter for separate waste collection. 10. From a city with a population of millions, less than a hundred people helped us; those who “found out late” referred to lack of awareness... If we want to get a clean and beautiful city for use, as in the photo below, then why, taking a step away from the central streets, do we see what is in the photo at the head of the post?
