Looking through the skeletons in the closets of prominent Chelyabinsk United Russia members, you sometimes come across truly creepy specimens. Such as, for example, the recent mysterious disappearance of SUSU professor A. Shchipitsyn - an associate and personal friend of the rector of this university, chairman of the Central branch of United Russia, deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly from this party A. Shestakov.
This man disappeared more than a year ago under very unclear circumstances. For some reason, no one is interested in his fate, and they are afraid to talk about him at the university.
Meanwhile, Anatoly Shchipitsyn cannot be called an inconspicuous person. In 1970, he graduated with honors from the Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (now SUSU) and was assigned to the department of “Gyroscopic Instruments and Devices” of the Instrument Engineering Faculty. As follows from his personal data on the old SUSU website (it simply doesn’t exist on the new one), during his work he led and actively participated in scientific research on the development of mathematical models, analysis and synthesis of inertial navigation systems of aircraft under contracts with defense organizations.
He became a Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, full member of the International Academy of Navigation and Motion Control, head of the Department of Control Systems at the Faculty of Instrumentation. Participated in the work of two doctoral dissertation councils at SUSU. Concurrently, he worked as the head of the Department of Scientific Research (deputy vice-rector for scientific work A. Shestakov, now rector of SUSU).
And then this professor suddenly stopped going to work and generally fell out of sight of his colleagues. The phones were silent, the colleagues could not - and to this day cannot - explain anything clearly. The professor's closest friends, Rector Shestakov and Vice-Rector Vaulin, maintain an impenetrable silence. They don’t seem to know about the existence of Professor Shchipitsyn – and was there such a thing at SUSU at all? Just yesterday, according to the stories of colleagues, Shchipitsyn was their support, but today he has been erased from the memory of friends and colleagues and crossed out from the university’s personnel list.
As for the broad masses of the teaching staff, they, as is customary at the current SUSU, remain absolutely indifferent: as long as they themselves are not touched. This is an important touch to the portrait of the current, rapidly degrading “academic community” of the Russian Federation.
Scarce and alarming information about Shchipitsyn appeared in the spring of 2011 on the website Chelyabinsk Regional Court in the section “Criminal cases of cassation”. Case file No. 22-3829/2011 indicates that Shchipitsyn A.G. is in custody in a criminal case under Art. 188, part 2. SUBJECT OF THE CASSATION CONSIDERATION - the resolution on the extension of the period of detention: “On the extension of the period of detention (Part 2 of Article 29 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation).”

There are rumors at the university that the professor was detained while undergoing customs inspection before boarding a Moscow-Beijing flight with a large amount of secret documentation and information. Whether this is true or not is a big secret for Rector Shestakov and United Russia, which was then going to the next elections and, apparently, was very afraid that another shameful word would be added to its popular name.
Another thing is even more important: in today’s Russia, like in some Guatemala of the 60s, public people can disappear almost without a trace, without any explanation. And no one cares about this. At least, this is how this situation looks for those acquaintances and colleagues of Anatoly Shchipitsyn, whose opinion was found out during the preparation of this note.
