The Russian economy is seriously ill. It is enough to recall the panic flight of capital from the country, to see what places Russia occupies in international ratings characterizing the business and investment climate, investment attractiveness, the well -being of citizens.

Attempts to write off everything on the raw material structure of the economy, which has developed long before the current rulers came to power, are untenable. They in no way explain either the outflow of capital or a scarce budget against the background of an absolute record set by average annual oil prices in 2011.

The main reason for the “disease” should be sought in a state of Russian institutions and society as a whole, in those relations that have developed between the state and business. The level of corruption and the scale of theft of state funds, which, ultimately, are the money of taxpayers and are most directly related to the level of tax burden on the economy and its competitiveness.

The new project of the “Daily Journal” sets its task to investigate the most high -profile “cases” in the field of economics who have damaged the state and all citizens who had a direct impact on the state of the Russian economy, business and investment climate in the country. The subject of consideration will be separate decisions in the field of economic policy that undermine the country's economy.

The Bureau of Economic Investigations in each case will try to evaluate direct and indirect damage caused to Russian citizens, as well as call the guilty of this damage. The state of the Russian judicial system does not allow us to hope that this damage will be compensated, and the perpetrators will suffer a punishment. Nevertheless, on the basis of the results of the investigation in each case, court claims will be prepared.
