The famous film director Alexei German Sr. regrets the split that took place in the Lenfilm public council during the discussion of the projects for the withdrawal of the St. Petersburg film studio from the crisis, RIA Novosti reports.

"Two days ago, a hearing of the concepts of Lenfilm took place. On the one hand, there was Sokurov and Sigl. On the other hand, there were a lot of our representatives (representatives of the Public Council), including Svetlana Karmalit (Chairman of the Council). The second concept, that is, was not Sokurovskaya. In principle, it is a pity that this led to some prolonged conflict. Yes, this is naturally at the same time. discussing the concept, ”German told the agency.

The public discussion of the two concepts of the development of Lenfilm was held last Tuesday at RIA Novosti. At the hearing, one concept was presented by a member of the public council of the film studio, producer Andrei Sigle, the second - the Board of Directors of the studio, which was supported by the majority of members of the Public Council.

The German Sr. also noted that he supports the concept of the development of the film studio, which was presented by the board of directors.

“I support the concept in which Lenfilm will last a few more years, or perhaps for a long time, or maybe always. The concept of Alexander Nikolaevich (Sokurova) is a situation in which Lenfilm will be closed in two years,” German said.

He also emphasized that he respects Sokurov-director, but never maintained personal relations with him.

"We have no relationship. And, as I think, it will not be. We understand the world differently, we understand different circumstances in the world in different ways," he said.

In his opinion, Sokurov and Sigle took a "strange position."

"I, in principle, understand these two concepts. As for Sigle, I would like to explain that I need to appeal at least some percentage of truth. It was necessary to prepare properly, and not some raw semi-finished product, in which there were some strange things, move," said the director.

The draft board of directors consists of two parts: the business model of the Lenfilm-Studio complex and the work of the production center, which will attract orders and provide equipment and sites for the production of films. This concept also provides for the integration of the film studio into the cultural environment of the city.

The Studio’s public council is offered to carry out reconstruction and re -equipment at Lenfilm at the expense of borrowed funds to a low credit rate, as well as returning the studio of the right to the film fund, alienated several years ago. This concept suggests that the film studio will work in the field of author, historical and youth cinema.

After the discussion of the Ministry of Culture as the organizer of the discussion, he will appeal to the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Property Management Agency with a request to officially state his position. The opinions of independent experts, members of the Public Council at the Ministry of Culture and experts of the Open Government, as explained in the department, will be recorded by the protocol, and the ministry itself will make every effort so that the decision is made as soon as possible and Lenfilm would become a world brand again.
